If you have an article or photoshoot idea that you want to pitch to us, we are looking for submissions that fall under the following themes: “Women and Friendship”, “Aesthetics of Feminism”, “Music Videos” and “FemPos Lit”.
Women and Friendship
The historical significance and psychology behind women and friendship and platonic love, including the role that gender and inanimate objects play with women and friendship. Get your pitch in by March 18.
Aesthetics of Feminism
The visuals of feminist movements (historical and contemporary) — from suffragists to contemporary capitalism. Pros and cons of hyperfemininity and the girl power “aesthetic”, including accessibility, cultural appropriation and consumption. Get your pitch in by April 4, 2017.
Music videos, visual albums and the like can change or help conceptualize a piece of music. We’re looking for pitches that discuss imagery in music videos, performing feminism, and the role that the visual identity of music has in the cultural landscape. Get your pitch in by April 5, 2017.
Contemporary and historical feminist literature, the impact of women writers disseminating feminist thought and theory, lived experiences and women’s autobiographical writing, connections to fictional characters, women writing other women (and for them). Get your pitch in by April 12, 2017.
