There are many ways to pay tribute to those you look up to, and they deserve all of them. Our chosen method? Sitting down with them, asking some pretty soul-searching questions, and revelling in their answers. We gather them all here in this segment, and we realized we had the beginnings of a club. An amalgamation of real, accomplished, and emboldened folks. The best part is, you can sit with us. Welcome to the S-Club.
Beginning your consumer journey as an ethical shopper can quickly manifest as an angel and devil debate on your shoulder. We learned that when it comes to sustainable and ethical fashion, there really is no definitive “how to” manual. And guide or no guide, our fashionable purchases have global environmental repercussions. So we turned to those who know much more than we do and asked, “What does sustainable fashion mean to you?”
Here to help us wade into the murky waters of ethical fashion — and to nurture our shoulder angels — we have sustainable designer and academic Anika Kozlowski, Sarah Peel from Fashion Takes Action, and Kim Kirton, co-founder and CEO of UnCo.
Feeling even more confused? Looking to learn more? Check out Fashion Takes Action summer workshops on August 20 and August 26 of this year. Learn about the issues facing the industry, but also how we as consumers can make a positive difference with our habits.
